Cybersafety and Cybernetiquette Is Everyones Business

Everyone (students, parents, teachers, and administrators) must get certified in Cybersafety and learn Cybernetiquette in order to navigate the Internet and use all forms of modern technology safely. Physical and emotional harm and yes even deaths have occurred because of a lack of Cybersafety and Cybernetiquette knowledge. The Internet and modern tech tools are amazing resources when used appropriately.

Check out the following websites. I recommend you and your friends get certified on iSafe, it has a great video program. There are many things to learn on all of these sights and contact information if you have questions.

CommonSense

Go take the online Cybersafety quiz and repeat it until you pass. Post to your blog when you pass the quiz and list the five most important things you learned so far about Cybersafety. Explore the Common Sense website and take the Family Media Agreement in English and complete it. Here is the Family Media Agreement in Spanish Post to your website once you completed the agreement and explain why it is important to have this Cybersafety conversation with your family.

Challenge: Ask ten of your friends and your parents to complete the same assignment you did about Cybersafety 1.) explore all the Cybersafety websites 2.) take the Cybersafety quiz until you pass and 3.) complete the Family Media Agreement from the CommonSense website. Post the initials of all the people you helped learn more about Cybersafety.

More to come about this topic in future posts.
